In April 2003 I backpacked around Vietnam. I kept a sketchbook, made notes, and took hundreds of photographs. I found Vietnam really beautiful, with very friendly people. I work as a children’s book illustrator, using tissue paper, crayon and stitching. My work is on display at Studio Three Gallery.

Photography beyond objective record: a recording of process, of thought, of loss, of both reality and the dream of reality. In my work I am influenced by the world I see, and the world that haunts me. I strive to capture this as best I can.

Gaia Fights for Equilibrium
Acrylic on Canvas
40cm diameter
Price Guide £100
My painting symbolises Mother Earth’s fight to regain equilibrium in her ecosystem. There will be destructive weather patterns, natural disasters and extinction of species, but eventually, Gaia will survive. If we don’t take personal responsibility for positive action to help her NOW, will she bother to save the human race?

I paint - nothing is typical. Botanical/portrait/landscape. Recently photographed rubbish for a regeneration project and this lead towards various aspects of nature and not-nature. Thus – a depiction of a burning rain-forest, with rubbish.
